Did you Know?

The class of 2018 is the first class to graduate using endorsements specified in House Bill 5.  House Bill 5 is a program that recognizes not all students have the same interests.   In fact, HB5 plans to "allow students to take meaningful courses that suit their interests; align those courses with the expectations of higher education and the workforce; provide opportunities for students in all sectors of our economy; and increase collaboration among K-12 schools, colleges and the business community" (Chambers and Arnold, 2016, p. 1).  HB5 is also responsible for an increase in  dual credit enrollment (Chambers and Arnold, 2016, p. 1).  By joining academic institutions like public schools and colleges with business industry leaders, HB5 in turn is promoting college and career readiness in Texas graduates in 2018.
